HiSET

The HiSET exam is an alternative to the GED test.  Candidates receive the same state-issued high school equivalency credential.  The HiSET is available in both English and Spanish and accommodations are available for test takers with disabilities or health-related needs

HiSET exams are administered Monday through Friday.  Testing hours typically are 9 am, 11 am, 1 pm, and 3 pm.  Exam scheduling is conducted ENTIRELY through the HiSET website.  Please see the HiSET website for available dates; this schedule is subject to change so please verify the date you want is still available before registering for an exam.  The time of a specific exam is selected at registration.  ADVANCE REGISTRATION THROUGH HiSET IS REQUIRED.

Registration and payment for the HiSET is conducted entirely through the HiSET website.  

FREE HSE Test Preparation Classes

FREE HSE test preparation classes are available to eligible Missouri adults at Adult Education and Literacy Programs throughout the state. Please direct adult test takers needing assistance with preparing for the HSE test to ael.mo.gov for eligibility requirements and a list of class locations. Online class instruction is also available to eligible students.

Test Results

Unofficial scores are displayed immediately after completion of a computer-based test for all multiple-choice sections.  Scores are available through a student's HiSET account.  NOTE: the Testing Center staff at no time has access to a student's HiSET scores. 

Transcripts

Neither the Testing Center nor Missouri State University maintain HiSET or GED transcripts. If you need a copy of your HiSET or GED transcript, you can obtain them from the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education:

Accommodations

Accommodations must be arranged through HiSET at the time a student registers for an exam.  Students who require accommodations must contact HiSET directly and cannot register for the exam online.
