ParaPro
The ParaPro Assessment is a general aptitude test for prospective and practicing paraprofessionals taht measures:
- skills and knowledge in reading, writing, and math
- ability to apply them when assisting in classroom instruction
It's required for certification in many states. Please check your state requirements for more information about the qualifying score in your state.
Registration
At Missouri State, the ParaPro is offered 'on demand", typically to groups of candidates. If you are a member of a group (for example, a high school student required to take this exam for your program), please work with your instructor to schedule your exam.
For individual candidates, arrangements must be made on a case-by-case basis. Contact the Testing Center at testingcenter@missouristate.edu or the Testing Technician at kevinwilson@missouristate.edu for information on how to schedule your exam.
Costs
- Candidates who are testing through a local high school as part of a group:
- Your school will make schedule your exam and the Testing Center will invoice the school for the cost of the test and the service fee. The exam is $55 per test, and the service fee is $10.
- Candidates who are individuals scheduling their own exam:
- Payment for the exam and service fee, for a total of $65, must be made through our online payment system.
Accommodations
Testing accommodations must be approved through ParaPro prior to your exam. Please see their webpage for more information.
